Whether you already live in in the Poitou-Charentes or Limousin region of France, are thinking of moving here permanently or have a holiday home here and maybe plan to make it your permanent home one day , the Charente Limousine Exchange (CLE) has something to offer you.
On this website you will find a host of information about living in France and how to become involved with the French communities in our area.
We currently have over 200 households and families as members. Membership covers a wide geographical area, and is centred around the lovely old town of Confolens. Members live in the Charente (16), Deux-Sevres (79), Vienne (86) and Haute-Vienne (87). To see a map of the area covered by our current Membership, please click HERE. We also have members who still have their permanent home in the UK. Whilst the majority of members are British, the Netherlands, the United States of America, Germany and of course our hosts France, are represented,
We hold a wide range of events for members throughout the year, including seminars on a variety of subjects, such as Taxation in France, and social activities such as Quiz Evenings and fund raising events. There is an active Garden Group that arranges garden visits and other interesting events. Our Events Page gives an idea of all the various events that have been arranged for this year.

We have also recently developed CLE CONNECT. This is a new service set up to offer emotional support to members of the CLE who feel isolated or vulnerable because of a drastic change in their personal circumstances. More details can be found on our Why join us? Page.
