Membership- Our biggest strength - Our members are our best and largest asset. The 200 plus households who make up our membership have acquired a wide range of knowledge, information and contacts. This means there is an extensive support network available through the Association.
Our knowledge base- This knowledge base has assisted many new members when they first move to France, especially when encountering and trying to deal with French bureaucracy.
Courses-
Local organisations- Close relationships have been formed with various local organisations such as the Centre Social Culturel du Confolentais, (Confolens Social Centre). This has helped the integration of newcomers into the local communities.
Fact sheets- These are available in our Members Area, covering various subjects ranging from what happens if you have to go into hospital in France to how to protect your PC from lightning and electric power surges.
CLE Connect- This is a new service set up to offer emotional support to members of the CLE who feel isolated or vulnerable because of a drastic change in their personal circumstances. The service is free and confidential. We have trained members who are available to help deal empathetically with coming to terms with this change. We are non-judgemental. We can help you find the appropriate information you need and help you to ask the necessary questions. We can direct you to organisations and professionals who can help with specific expertise or practical help. We can support you emotionally as you work out what decisions you have to make. As a member of CLE you need not be alone – we are here to help you in your time of emotional need. If you are a member please go to the CLE Connect page in the Members Area to contact us.
Events- A wide range of events, seminars, social activities and visits are organised. Look at our Events Page to see what is planned for this year.
Garden Group This is particularly popular group with its garden visits. Often gardens are opened specifically for the visit by the CLE Garden Group. Look at our Events Page to see what is planned for this year.
Newsletter- Each household receives a monthly newsletter, a valuable source of up to the minute news on subjects directly affecting our members. Back issues are available for download in the Members Area.
Members Contact List- All members receive a Contact List of all members and their interests to enable direct contact between members. You can opt out of being included on the list if you wish.
